Inside the Studio

A space of transformation and creation

Maspa Studio is an independent creative project founded by artist and designer Kristina Maspanova. Working across contemporary art, design and visual expression, the project brings together a variety of disciplines, materials and creative approaches. From original artworks and mixed media compositions to spatial concepts and design objects, Maspa Studio explores the relationship between artistic expression, aesthetics and contemporary living.

about the artist

Art is a way of feeling the essence of the world

I am Kristina Maspanova, a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer based in Milan, Italy. My background brings together fine arts, interior design and product design. I studied interior design in Tallinn and later graduated from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Visual Arts. My studies also extended into Product Design, further developing my interest in form, material and the relationship between aesthetics and function.

My artistic practice moves across contemporary painting, mixed media, collage, photography and spatial exploration. I am particularly interested in the transformation of materials, images and forms, and in the ways different elements can be brought together to create new visual meanings. I founded Maspa Studio as an independent creative project to bring these disciplines into a shared framework - connecting my artistic practice with design, visual research and the exploration of new creative possibilities. At its core is an interest in the relationship between art, material and the world around us, and in discovering new ways of seeing and interpreting it.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

The ever-changing nature of perception.

I am drawn to the fragmented nature of human experience and to the complex relationships between ourselves and the world we inhabit.Through deconstruction, transformation and the reconfiguration of forms, images and meanings, I explore how familiar realities can be questioned and perceived from new perspectives.Ultimately, my work is an ongoing search for connections - between fragments and wholes, the personal and the universal, the material and the intangible. It is an attempt to understand how seemingly separate elements form part of a larger, interconnected reality.
