Description
City Frames is a collage that takes part of the “Lost in” series, exploring states of disorientation, solitude, and quiet melancholy within urban space.
The composition is built around a city map from which most of the built environment has been removed. Buildings are cut out, leaving only a network of streets and voids. The city loses its physical body and becomes a closed structure — a frame rather than a place. Within this structure, a human figure appears reduced to a shadow, a sign of presence without belonging.
Beneath the map, an organic red form emerges, reminiscent of a flower. It introduces a sense of vulnerability and tension, reinforcing a fragile balance between what is living and what has been cut away.
Several roads extend beyond the enclosed city frame, emphasizing the tension between confinement and the impulse toward departure. The work invites the viewer to perceive the city not as a location, but as an inner state — a space where frames exist not outside, but within.
